Scoliosis Awareness Day
Scoliosis Association UK (SAUK)

A Commission for SAUK to coincide with global Scoliosis Awareness Day.
I worked alongside the organisation to tell the story of Vicky Wong's personal experience with Scoliosis growing up, as well as provide pertinent information regarding early detection and symptoms of Scoliosis. Vicky herself performed the voice over and SAUK were incredibly lovely to work with.
As a Scoliosis haver myself it was important for me to tell this story.

Rokkakudo
Yoshin,Stories of the Tōhoku Earthquake 10 Years On
An animation commissioned by Yoshin, whose aim is to commemorate the tenth anniversary Tōhoku Earthquake in Japan. This animation was adapted from the short story "Rokkakudo" by Clare Sumi.
"Yoshin presents over fifty original stories inspired by some of the towns and cities that were impacted. All work has been made available for free through public funding awarded by Arts Council England. Yoshin is a collaboration between new and award-wining writers, internationally acclaimed and emerging comic book artists, UK-based performers of Japanese heritage and musicians."
Made in collaboration with Yena Choi.

Give It A Spin!
An animation that translates my own experiences, and the experiences of my Aerial Hoop Class. I wanted to convey the many benefits of doing Aerial as an activity, as well as a broader appeal to other women who may not love physical activity to give this unique and niche activity a try .

Word on the Singapore Streets
Ink Printed animated GIFs based off quotes from Timeout’s ‘Overheard In’ section, inspired by the colourful tiles decorating the shophouses around Singapore and its’ vibrant culture. Designed for instagram, swiping will reveal the original quote, as well as my explanations for any slang (Singlish) or specific local references. The borders also contain subject matter from the quotes.

Tai Chi Flows

A project based translating my experience doing Tai Chi into a zine that would capture the philosophy, culture, and flow of the martial art.
Minimalist ink strokes are designed to convey the motion of the body. The Chinese names of the movements are translated visually into their literal meanings.
Pages from the booklet displayed above:

Mooncake Boxes
An anthropological take on the small everyday traditions in my family and culture - namely collecting mooncake boxes and filling them with knick knacks over time. I take on the persona of investigator and archivist, to make the subject matter understandable to a wider audience. I present my findings in website form, accompanied by the usage of GIFs.
